When To Use Quick Sop Urgent Care More Than Urgent Care Clinics
Get ready to experience better service and better care at a better price.
Small things like scrapes and bruises can be treated at home, and life-threatening conditions like heart attacks need to be taken care of at a hospital ER. For everything in between there is Exer – More Than Urgent Care. As long as your condition or illness is non life-threatening, we can help you get the care you need quickly and conveniently but without the cost of a hospital ER. Our centers are equipped with digital x-ray, a diagnostic laboratory, splinting & laceration rooms, IV capabilities and more. We also work closely with the best local imaging centers for MRI and CAT scan imaging when you need it.
At Exer we treat patients of all ages for coughs & colds, broken bones, asthma attacks, lacerations in need of stitches, intravenous antibiotics and more, offering you a one stop option for time-sensitive affordable care. With no appointment necessary, a focus on compassionate care and an ER doctor always onsite you can take comfort in knowing that great care will always be there when you need it. We want you to leave our urgent care centers on the mend, but even better is when you also leave feeling good!
Why Not Go To A Hospital Emergency Room?
At Exer you’ll see the same expert physicians as you would at the hospital but for a fraction of the cost.
Why do most people try to avoid the ER?
Cost: You’ve seen the news stories where an aspirin at the hospital costs $30. How crazy is that? When you’re treated in a hospital, you end up paying part of the costs that it takes to run the entire hospital. So $29.97 of that $30 aspirin is paying for part of everyone else’s treatment. Makes sense if you’re getting a kidney transplant, but for the rest of us it’s a little outrageous.
Wait Times: When was the last time you heard someone say, “I broke my arm at lunch and I was in and out of the emergency room in time for my son’s soccer practice”? At Exer this is an every day reality because we’re designed for efficiency and expertise, whereas the hospital ER is designed to handle every possible situation you can imagine and unfortunately that translates into very long waits for the rest of us.
According to a recent study, 71% of ER visits are non life-threatening and can be treated at a more appropriate setting like an urgent care. (CDC, National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey’s 2008 Emergency Department summary)
Hospital ER visits are up 30% in the last 10 years (CDC, National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey’s 2008 Emergency Department summary), and they’re not necessarily bringing on more doctors. This translates into yet even longer wait times and less personal attention.
When you go to the hospital with an issue that could be handled at an Exer center (almost anything non life-threatening) then you’re not only waiting longer and paying more, you’re actually clogging up the system that could otherwise be taking care of higher-need patients (heart attacks, gunshot wounds, etc). When you go to Exer instead, you’re not only helping yourself out but you’re helping our hospital system as well. It’s a win for everybody!
